Real
story, and epilogue
The
major events begin when the Warship sweeps through and sweeps
through 3 of the major cities. After this is destroyed, Phin will
become liberated, and made the main resistance base. To destroy
the emporer, the party goes to Mysidia to unleash the power of
Ultima, the greatest offensive magic. But during this, Leviathon
swallows the party, and they meet the last of the Dragoons, who
also seeks Ultima. After escaping Leviathon, the power of Ultima
is discovered. The Emporer then summons the Whirlwind, which
crushes most of the major cities. Inside, the Emporer is found,
and killed.
Is
peace achieved?
Of
course not. The emporer was too damn easy to be the final enemy.
The Whirlwind is gone, and the people of Phin celebrate. But it is
found out that the Empire still lives on, with that elusive Dark
Knight is the new emporer! Here's the real kicker. That Dark
Knight is none other than Lionheart! Yes, he's been playing with
the party ever since meeting in Bofsk. So after acquiring the late
Cid's airship, the party heads to Paramekia castle to find
Lionheart. Lionheart steps down from his command reluctantly after
seeing his sister, Maria cry. And so, there is no one to command
the empire!
Is
peace achieved?
Of
course not. There was no final enemy! Well, we remember that the
old emporer dealt with Hellspawn and Daemons and the like. Well,
he's now in a pact with Hell itself, and the emporer now exists in
an undead form. Now stronger than ever, the emporer forges the old
castle into the Castle Pandemonium! The only entrance is through
the Jade portal, which leads to Hell itself. After slaying minions
inside the Pandemonium (one of them is named "Satan"...
I wonder if this is the proper phrasing), the party takes on the
Undead Paramekian Emporer, and finally kill him, and he sinks into
Limbo . . .
Is
peace achieved?
Yes,
and it's about damn time. It's a rather generic ending, and
everyone is hunky dory, and Phin lives on to prosper. Lionheart
realizes that the party could no longer be the same, and breaks
his ties with them. And before the scene closes, the party sees
ghost images of Josef, Minh, and Richard, making a final farewell.
